Ashley Kinnard Studio is a London-based design practice. Moving between design and art, the studio creates visual forms that are direct and poetic, bringing an artist’s thinking to every project, from first instinct through to making.
The studio works with artists, cultural institutions, arts organisations, the music industry, independent publishers, and independent brands and initiatives across visual identity, art direction, editorial and publication design, exhibition design, brand identity, typography, and websites. Projects begin through conversation and are developed into clear visual directions, shaping ideas into visual outcomes that are specific, considered, and material.
The studio is led by Ashley Kinnard, a designer and artist based in London whose practice moves across art, graphic design, publishing, type design, and code. Driven by a restless curiosity that follows ideas wherever they lead, welcoming accidents, and not always knowing where it’s going until it arrives.
Conceptual typography, materiality, and print production are central concerns, alongside an ongoing engagement with independent publishing and visual research. The studio holds the view that the best design comes from somewhere close to instinct, not the boardroom.
Recent projects include New Contemporaries, ODDA Recordings, Stranger Pages, and SET Film Festival.
